Called to ministry since second grade, Gavin hesitated due to uncertainty. At 18, he stepped into a leadership role in his youth group, igniting his journey. He learned that God’s call is steadfast and now serves as a youth pastor, navigating life with his young family. At Garner Church of God, Gavin cherishes the strong sense of community, where everyone appreciates the gift of grace. For him, each gathering feels like a family reunion, and he loves guiding young hearts to a relationship with Jesus.

Katie Goins is the Co-Student Pastor at Garner Church of God, where she has been an active member for 23 years. With a joyful spirit and a heart full of devotion, she is a guiding light for the youth and a singer on the praise and worship team. Katie's journey with GCOG began in her earliest years. As a toddler, her passion for Jesus and sharing the gospel was evident. Growing up, she faced challenges that tested her faith, including anxiety and anger. At 18, during the uncertainty of the pandemic, she found herself at a crossroads but turned wholeheartedly to Jesus, discovering He was all she needed. That marked the start of her discipleship journey, leading her to ministry school and a pursuit of Christian family counseling, where she met her husband. Married for nearly two years, they have a daughter, Mylah Ruth. Katie’s life is a testament to redemption and grace, where identity and purpose are anchored in Jesus Christ. The Goins family is known for their lively and loving nature, embracing everyone as family. For Katie, Garner Church of God is a cherished community filled with profound friendships and a shared hunger for the presence of God.

Meet Cody Osborn, the talented Production Leader at Garner Church of God since 2008. Originally from Toledo, Ohio, Cody moved to North Carolina in 2007. Invited by friends, he quickly embraced the church community. Cody has led the production team for two years, enhancing worship experiences. His faith journey transformed in 2021 when he fully surrendered to the Lord, witnessing financial blessings and personal healing. As a servant leader, he inspires others with love and encouragement. Cody met his high school sweetheart, Jade, in ninth grade. Married since 2014, they have two energetic sons. The Osborn family enjoys cozy nights, church, and family gatherings, radiating love and togetherness. Cody values the family environment at Garner Church of God, where he finds true community. His compassionate spirit uplifts everyone around him.

Joseph Sawvel is the dedicated Worship Leader at Garner Church of God. With his talents as a guitarist and vocalist, he creates an uplifting spiritual experience for the congregation. Originally from Willow Spring, NC, Joseph has been a part of the GCOG community for 14 years and has served as Worship Leader for the past two years. Joseph's journey to GCOG began through a family invitation. After marrying Autumn and seeking divine guidance, they chose GCOG as their home church. Raised in a family that attended church sporadically, Joseph believed in God but didn't see the need for a personal relationship until he witnessed a miraculous healing during a revival. This event solidified his faith, and he was saved at 11. However, he faced challenges during his teenage years, eventually rededicating his life to Christ at 20. Shortly after, he married Autumn, and together they have deepened their faith. Joseph and Autumn have been married for nearly 14 years and have two daughters, aged 9 and 10. The Sawvel family finds joy and support within the GCOG community, where they are embraced with love. For Joseph, GCOG is more than a church; it’s family. He treasures the sense of belonging and camaraderie, finding fulfillment in contributing to the spiritual life of the church through his music and leadership.
